Description

Rabilax 20 Injection contains Rabeprazole 20 mg, a potent proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used for rapid suppression of gastric acid secretion. It is ideal for hospital and emergency settings where oral administration is not feasible.


Composition

  • Rabeprazole Sodium equivalent to Rabeprazole – 20 mg
  • Lyophilized powder for reconstitution (IV use only)

Mechanism of Action

Rabeprazole works by irreversibly inhibiting the gastric proton pump (H⁺/K⁺-ATPase) in parietal cells, effectively blocking the final step of acid production and providing sustained acid suppression.


Indications

Rabilax 20 is indicated for:

  • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
  • Peptic ulcer disease (gastric & duodenal ulcers)
  • Erosive esophagitis
  • Zollinger–Ellison syndrome
  • Stress ulcer prophylaxis in critically ill patients
  • Upper gastrointestinal bleeding

Dosage & Administration

  • Administered via intravenous injection or infusion
  • Typical dose: 20 mg once daily or as directed by physician
  • Transition to oral therapy when possible
