Description

ESMOZOL-40 Injection is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) formulated for intravenous administration. It is used for the short-term management of acid-related disorders when oral therapy is not feasible. The lyophilized formulation ensures stability and rapid reconstitution for hospital use.


Mechanism of Action

Esomeprazole selectively inhibits the H⁺/K⁺-ATPase enzyme (proton pump) in gastric parietal cells, thereby:

  • Suppressing gastric acid secretion
  • Providing prolonged acid control
  • Promoting healing of acid-related damage

Indications

  • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) (severe cases)
  • Erosive esophagitis
  • Peptic ulcers (gastric & duodenal)
