Description
ESMOZOL-40 Injection is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) formulated for intravenous administration. It is used for the short-term management of acid-related disorders when oral therapy is not feasible. The lyophilized formulation ensures stability and rapid reconstitution for hospital use.
Mechanism of Action
Esomeprazole selectively inhibits the H⁺/K⁺-ATPase enzyme (proton pump) in gastric parietal cells, thereby:
- Suppressing gastric acid secretion
- Providing prolonged acid control
- Promoting healing of acid-related damage

- Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) (severe cases)
- Erosive esophagitis
- Peptic ulcers (gastric & duodenal)
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
- Prevention of stress-related mucosal damage in critically ill patients
